Only 20 houses on the entire island. Each house has its own private pool and garden enclosed by walls. You can go an entire stay without seeing another guest. Staff arrive only when called. The restaurant seats 20, so even dining feels private. Anantara Veli is next door if you want more activity.

33 villas designed to look like traditional Maldivian dhoni boats. The island is small enough to walk around in 10 minutes. COMO Shambhala spa and wellness program. Quiet, wellness-focused atmosphere. No children's club, no water sports center noise. The focus is on rest.

Mirihi Island Resort
South Ari Atoll
One of the smallest resort islands in the Maldives. You can walk the entire island in 5 minutes. Despite 36 villas, the feeling is intimate because the island itself is so small that it becomes your private space. The overwater villas have excellent spacing. Whale shark zone location.

44 villas spread across a lush island. Beach bungalows are hidden in dense tropical vegetation, each with a private pool. The underground wine cellar seats 8. The underwater spa was the first of its kind. Adults-focused atmosphere without being adults-only. Low-key luxury.

100 villas is more than the others on this list, but the island is large enough to absorb them. Multiple overwater jetties spread guests out. The Coco Residence villas at the end of the main jetty are the most private. Latitude restaurant overwater. Good reef snorkeling.

How We Calculate Privacy Score
Four factors combined into a single score. Some small islands feel crowded; some larger ones feel empty.
Island Size
Larger islands have more space between villas. But a large island with 200 villas can feel busier than a small island with 20.
Villa Count
Fewer villas means fewer guests. At Naladhu, maximum capacity is 40 guests. At Coco Bodu Hithi, it is 200.
Villa Spacing
How far apart villas are. Thick vegetation, walls, or wide water between overwater villas all increase the feeling of seclusion.
Avg. Occupancy
Resorts that run at 60% feel emptier than those at 90%. Off-peak travel (May to October) drops occupancy at most resorts.
