The atoll is a 45- to 1.5-hour seaplane journey away from the Male' International Airport. It is quite a distance away, but definitely worth every mile travelled. It is home to Fusiliers, Snappers, and a large population of Spinner dolphins. It is a popular location for divers as its waters are full of fish and lively coral. The most famous spots include Orimas Thila and Christmas Tree Rock. Orimas Thila is a shark point where you can spot grey and white tip reef sharks. Christmas Tree Rock (also known as Vavathi Kurolhi Thila) is best known for its soft coral life. There are eight resorts and six guesthouses in the atoll, notably the luxury island retreat Noku Maldives, the pristine Cheval Blanc Randheli, and the fun-filled overwater resort Soneva Jani. The "Maamiskithu Vevu", located in the atoll's capital Manadhoo, is a historical bathing tank. The ancient structure is made of sandstone and adorned with Arabic calligraphy. a must-visit if you are curious about the archipelago's rich history.
