Do I need to book my own seaplane transfer?

The cost appears on your resort invoice. When you book through IM, we coordinate the entire transfer — you simply arrive at Velana and you're looked after from there.

Which airlines operate Maldives seaplanes?

Three carriers fly the seaplane routes. Trans Maldivian Airways (TMA) is the largest by far, with a fleet of around 67 Twin Otters and 300-plus flights a day, so it serves most resorts. Manta Air, flying seaplanes since 2019, has newer cabins and a growing network. Maldivian, the national carrier, runs a smaller seaplane fleet plus the domestic flights that reach the far south. You don't choose the operator; your resort's contract decides it.
How long is the seaplane flight to my resort?
