What to Expect
April marks the transition to the southwest monsoon. Weather remains warm and largely sunny, but the first afternoon showers begin to appear (averaging 9 rain days). The sea temperature peaks at 29°C, the warmest of the year. Sunrise and sunset remain spectacular.
Easter weekend brings a short crowd spike, after which rates begin dropping into shoulder pricing. Ramadan often falls in this month (varies by Islamic calendar). Resorts remain fully operational, but expect quieter daytime ambience and special iftar dinners. Local-island excursions may have limited daytime food service.
