Flight Q2957 departs Melbourne Tullamarine at 11:20pm every Monday, arriving in Malé at 5:55am Tuesday morning. The return flight departs Malé on Sunday evenings. The aircraft is a wide-body Airbus A330-200, carrying 18 fully lie-flat business class seats and 246 economy seats.

Compare that to conventional routing — which typically involves 20+ hours including layovers — and the difference is remarkable. The service is currently operating as a six-month trial, sold exclusively through a bundled resort package partner with a minimum five-night stay. Sydney and Perth routes have been flagged as future additions.
